Hi !!

I've been using the Brazil renderer test-version for a few days now. I think it really kicks ass. But still ... there are a few questions I would like to ask. Maybe there is someone who can help me out here.

- How can I create soft shadows with MAX's standard lights?
- Can i still use my rendereffects when using the Brazil renderer.

I've attached my verry-verry-verry first model (non-brazil render).
Please feel free to kick me in the face with some pointers!

PS: MAX's standard scanline renderer SuXX Goatballs!

Thanx, but it's not really what I meant.

How can I get a shadow that's sharp in the beginning but as it's distance from the object increases the shadow gets more blurry.

This is a sample image of what i've got now.
As u can see, the shadow isn't blurring away....

Try using geometry lights (a box with self ilum and a high output).

I don't know that this will give you the effect you are after, but to increase self illumination ( you generally use standard materials for this , not Brazil mat) just up the spinner for colour in the basic parameters of the material. :)

Ow, I already knew that. But I thought It would make them generate light. Thanks anyway!

I still don't know how to make softshadows.
