Here is my other pet project. A Soviet AKM 1960's model. Here is the real deal. Russian laminated wood, orange bakelite magazine, beautiful rifle. I had one in semi auto for a while.

I wanted to make an AK that is not what you see in most of the games. Like the traditional AK-47 which was made out of milled still, and was very heavy. I wanted something newer, something more modernized. So I picked the famous AKM which is (Avtomat Kalashnikova Modernizirovani) The new receiver is stamped, and other features like the slanted break, ribbed top cover, lighter wood, and the most notable orange mag. But that can be used on any 7.62 AK.

Here is the progress so far. I'm done with the model as you can see

I've textured most of it now, the only thing is left is to finish barrel textures. So here are some renders of what I have so far

polycount? even in next gen games, you dont need to go overboard with weapon polycounts.
looks real good tho :)
