Hi. This is an attempt to make a really low poly character. First i started just having fun by modelling a head, and later on i decided to give him a body. Im still working on the map, but probably wont change much more now. It would be great to hear some feedbacks on him.
The model has 889 tris and one 256x256 difuse map at 100% self lumination. I gave him a very basic rigg and will try to animate a walk cycle now, hopefully i will be able to show it some day soon...

yeah looking at the refs,i deffinately think the hair needs darker roots, would do wonders for the contrast as well, little to dull at mo, although considering 100% illumination, its probably ok.

looking at it again, the centre parted fringe looks wrong guive him a side parting lioike in refs. you will have high class model once this is done.

like the over sized hands aswell.

You mean the hair? Yeah i can try some different versions later on. Just have to do a few changes on the map for it. I agree with the dark parts on the hair aswell. When i get back from classes today i will give it a try.

Thanks for the coments my friend :D.

Hello guys. I did a simple walk in order to test the rigg and see how far i could go with this guy. I was quite happy with the results and soon i will make a few more anims. But for now, it would be great to hear any feedbacks on the walk.

Hey! that's some great work, nothing much to crit but i'll try:
-His hands are too big but i guess that's the style you are going for :D
-Also agree with SHEPEIRO about the hair.

Looks like the rig is pretty good too, minor tweaks should make it perfect. Excellent use of UV space.

HEHEHEY, look at this, now i hv 2 ppl looking at this thread :)

Psyk0 -> Yeah i made the hands a litle bit bigger, so it could be seen better from far away. Since this is s very low poly char. i Think it would be used in very long shots, or in a psp game. I might try a version with smaller hands aswell.

The hair, well i changes it and will post an image, but you could download the walk again in a .mov format, for i have a friend who told me he had a problem with the codec i used. So if u had any problem, the mov format should work fine.

Apreciated the feedback guys, maybe i should make a few cycles for him, like a death, idle, walk, run, shooting... Or maybe i should start a new character.

yeah the hair is sooo much better, you could finish there or still add afew darker bits, but it doesnt really matter, its un-mistakeably him.

cant wait to see the different cycles.

Yep he is, unfortunatly he passed away in 2000 if im not wrong. But his movies will always be a great source for those who likes movies in a GTA style :).
And thank you very much for the kind words.Im still thinking if i should make a new character or work a few cycles for him.... Anyway i will keep posting in this great forum.

i agree with everyone else. that is an awesome model. you dont see as much good low poly work these days and this is an awesome tribute to one of the biggest badasses to ever appear on the silver screen. you should put him in a room with some dead thugs or something. put him in his element.
