one thing i have noticed, [please do not start flameage] is that in maya, the perfomance, in how models(i guess you could say) are handled is much better than lw, imho. because a model in lw that has about 25k polys, kinda lags. i dont know why. then, i import it into maya(as .obj) and i can have no lag at all, and the same goes for softimage exprience. its just, i think lw's way of handling geometry, might need to change.

anybody had different expierences?

Well every program is made differently, and there's just so many ways to code a simple thing like a box with an image... imagine coding your own 3D program...

So, apparently LW isn't very optimized (Or built in the first place) to handle much polygons, unlike Maya and XSI apparently.


It's like saying "This car goes faster than this... I wonder why...", impossible to say, everything relates to everything :)
