Title: The Ork
Name: Francois L. Cannels
Country: Canada
Software: Photoshop

more stuff in the line of work: someone requested an ork's head and though i had planned something simple at first, i wound creating the most detailed face in my life. Credits for the cigar and the inspiration to the detail go to...someone whose name i forget but made an incredible 3d head of a human Hellboy with a cigar in his mouth, hence the hommage with that chairleg :)

Amazing texture on his face, the details look great and the slight color variation livens it up a bit. What technique did you use to do the fine detailing?

Lots of character in the character too :) His eye looks alive

One thing I notice tho, the teeth look a little odd compared to the rest since they don't have that finely detailed texture. Otherwise good picture :)

I highlighted the skin with the dodge tool on a splatter brush. some places i crisscrossed the strokes so that it'd bunch up to form wrinkles, and at some other spots i just peppered it to help form pores along with the burn tool. the noise filter and the sharpen tool/filter helps bringing it all out, too.

I liked the composition with cigar and it did not remind me the Hellboy at the first sight actually (which is good).
