I want to try something cool and different in October for Halloween.

The idea is for all artists to work on the own individual Horror TOPIC of their choosing
for a whole week.

The artist would do a 7 page horror tale that can be either in Page splash format or
comic book format. And of course team entries would be allowed.

The idea came to me as I read that wonderful collaboration by

Stephen King and Berni Wrightson.

The collaboration that came out was the short novella

Cycle of the Werewolf (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0451822196/104-9900545-8062336?v=glance)

and it is a tale based on each month of the calendar.

If you are interested in trying this experiment, just reply to this thread.

Here are some reviews of Kings book so you get the idea:

That's an awesome idea! I'm in!
Also in the same vein is Dream Hunter by Neil Gaiman and Yoshitaka Amano. State of the art :) Not that much of a horror story, rather fantasy tale.
BTW, would it be one story of seven illustration per week during the whole month? Or just one week?
And would it have to strictly stick to horror? or could it bias toward fantasy or so?
Thanks for the great idea Roberto.
Cheers

Hi Igor,
I am glad you like the idea.

For now it is only one week, but if it is popular I would do it for the whole month.

And I have no problem if you want to do a fantasy tale.

Time has been incredibly short for me for this past month, but I'll give it a try. I've always enjoyed the story telling artist tremendously, but often fall short myself. I'm looking forward to it.

Ok a question.

Do you guys want an open topic thing
or have a topic...FOR THE WHOLE WEEK?

Thought the topic was going to be "A horror story"

or are you looking for topics like...

It came from the black lagoon...
Under the stairs...
Vistors from the stars...
Into the woods...
Caves or darkness...
The attack of the bell bottoms...

I have a simple story about a man afraids of death so much, cliché maybe. I'm no good on writing and don't know English well... Maybe a little help here? :)

Certainly, participation is a must. ;)
BTW, must it be all original or can one recycle copyrighted material (eg. known film/literature monsters, beasts or villains)?

Classic monsters are ok, but please avoid copyrighted monsters (ie The Alien, The Predator etc)

will you start a new thread for each day or just one for the whole week?

and is this in the ordinary daily sketch or are you gonna post topics alongside this one?

anyhow I'm in, but I can't promise I'll be able to make pictures 7 days in a row.

i will announce A WEEK before when the Stroy week starts.

The threads will be called :
The Horror Story: Page 1
And I will create, as always, one thread a day.
You just post post your individual pages on each thread!

Are you going to provide one topic for the week or is it a new topic every day for the week? I'm a bit confused. :hmm:
