View Full Version : xp 64 and dirtmap
wabash 09-22-2005, 07:48 PM Has anybody had a problem using dirtmap on a 64 bit xp computer? It is the only pc that I have that doesn't render with the dirtmap, wondering if it could be related with the os? This is the only custom shader I have tried, so I don't know if it is just this shader with 64 or all of my custom shaders that will not work.

Just had the same problem, It seams like its not compatible with the 64bits version of the OS, we are currently using 2k3 server 64bits on some of our render nodes for future expansion and they just post this in the Log file.

Even if its correcly installed its not loading it in.
no problem on the 2k3 server 32 bit versions
After searching the net for a while for an updated version, we just started using the built in mib_amb_occlusion shader instead.
Think the dll files must be recompiled for 64bits usage.
MSVCR70.DLL - might also have to do with this one that also need to be updated if thats the case.

Yes, all shaders etc. must be recompiled for 64-bit.

Specificly why do you still need Dirtmap when you already have a working mib_amb_occlusion ?

One of our artists used it and iam running the renderfarm, thats why i noticed it.
