Good Luck and have fun! :)

These are my initial pencil sketches
http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/10/9046/9046_1127695385_medium.jpg (http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/10/9046/9046_1127695385_large.jpg)
The image is zoomed in a bit
http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/10/9046/9046_1127695573_medium.jpg (http://features.cgsociety.org/challenge/entries/10/9046/9046_1127695573_large.jpg)
Perhaps a closer view would be more appropriate.
I am trying to tell the story of a soldier, who is cut off behind enemy lines. He is in hiding, and in big trouble. There is enemy activity right by him and rather or not he is captured is at the mercy of an alley cat perched right next to him.
Above I posted three different ways of approaching it..From far away, somewhat close, and close up.
Can't decide which scheme would be more dramatic. Each view has it merits.
Any Thoughts?
BTW thanks for the warm welcome MicaelMotion :)

I personally like the somewhat close view, therefore I did a more detailed sketch of it. Hopefully, I can finalize the look and feel of the image within the next couple of days and I can start on the final line art.
Currently at a loss on the title for right now. As soon as one comes to mind, I'll let everyone know.

Closer view of the main characters. I wonder what would be going through my head if I was in this situation.

Maybe to make it more spectacular, you could have a worm's-eye-view of the soldier, dwarfed by a huge war machine in the background.

You know, that is a really great idea. As soon as I get home from work, I think I'll sketch up that worm's eye view of the scene.
Unfortunately, it's going to be very hard to get any of my architectural design work done today, because I have a million ideas of that worm's eye view going through my head.

Here is another iteration of my concept. Put a slight Sci-Fi Flavor to it.
My working title for this image is "Meow"

Thanks, Angel
I'm doing one more iteration with the concept before I do my color studies. It will have a very similar camera angle but I may do a twist to the concept.
I'm gonna try to post it tonight, would very much appreciate your input, afterall I'm bench marking the quality of my work next to submissions such as yours. :)

This is beautiful work here! Lucky me I donīt miss further development.
The cat scene is so cool!
The angle is very good in the current one but I also like the other concepts. Maybe
because they allow you to show some more things going around.
Maybe the cat could raise itīs paw to touch soldier or something like that.
cool work, dude.

your first sketch is like I have in mind to add at my concept..:D but your new update is better... :buttrock: keep it up man!
Your last sketch is definitely the best so far. The perspective is great and evokes a lot more emotion. The viewer almost wants to hold their breath!
I am looking forward to seeing what twist you have in mind.

Sorry, it took a bit longer to get this next sketch posted. I had some technical difficulty with my computer. It just died....finally got my new computer up and running.
At anyhoo here is the twist on the concept. The robot you see is focused on the cat, it is rather curious about this tiny life form because it has never seen a cat before. It is unaware that there is a human beneath him, or the robot could be just indifferent of the fact. Not sure at this point which scheme I like better.
Any Thoughts.
Korline, Beelow: I am working on a background image for the concept. Although I will be opening up the canvas a bit....I have to be careful not to do it too much, because it will take away from the focus of the 3 main characters. Thanx for the input.
Fahrija: Per your request.....I sketched the kitty cat raising it's paw.
Thanks everyone for the comments thus far. It really helps.

your new sketch is great, but now, the robot looks smaller  would be better if will be a giant robot... keep it up... I'll wait for new updates:thumbsup: ...

Nice improvement on the concept. I agree that the robot should be bigger.
I notice his finger on his nose, i think the position conveys "smelly (bad smell)" instead of "ssshhhh to the cat".

great sketch, the new concept has much potential. maybe move the point of view a bit closer to the ground, so that angle supports the impressin of size for the robot. keep up the great work mate!

Hi Marcus! I like technics of your graphic sketch.:)
In last sketch can be, it is necessary to change - something...?
The protective waistcoat at the soldier anyhow can change (can on a survival suit fighting, protective plates on shoulders? In fact absolutely without protection the soldier :(
But also and the weapon not so inspires trust (m-16 ?), also can be and the weapon to it to change?? idea good
Success!
The justification for my bad English language
Yours faithfully :)
