Hi! Here we go!
Here's the story for my pic. This astronaut has crashed into some unknown planet. When he gets out of his ruined spaceship and walks on top of a hill nearby, he sees in the distance a huge ruined statue carved into side of a mountain. It's propably thousands and thousands years old, really huge and definitely not built by humans. I think that could be spectacular.

This is very similar to my concept... Like to see where you go with it.

Hi Juho,
The concept looks like it would work very well, just put some more stuff in the pic to make things interesting. Like the concept sketch and good luck.

Very nice idea. Just one little note. If you could make the statue look like it has some relation to human culture it would be a much more spectacular.

You might want to change Luke's outfit for the final work...;)
I've always liked your art and I've also noticed your fondness for wide panoramic shots.
Movies you want to make, hrm?
...sorry I channeled Yoda back there.

I was starting to work with my first concept, when this popped into my head.
Somehow I was thinkig of how great it would be to travel in time. If timemachine was invented, I'd definetely would travel back into Cretaceous period to see the huge carnivore dinosaurs. So, I thought about the scientist who have to test the machine first to see if it works. In this pic, the scientists are too excited to notice the T-Rex until it's too late...

I see where you're heading!
Please put some equipment around the scientists, now they're just hanging around in the jungle. Some fx around them too? Mystic whips of smoke and fog to mark their time travel? You love those.
I'm really looking forward in seeing your funny little men, it'll be a challenge. Nice to see that you're trying new things. :)

T-rex modeling allmost done. I'll do the details with displacement. I still need to unwrap it. It still needs to look a lot more meaner.

After some hard tweaking I'm starting to get the t-rex to look like I want it to look. I think I'll texture it first and then move on to work with the scientists.
Really nice t-rex

I did some texturing to rex. It's not yet finished and it still needs some tweaking, but I think it's coming along ok.

Nice. I like the belly, but....
I really dislike the greed shade in the back. Makes me wanna puke. horrible! Shame on you! It looks like Trex is trying to use some make-up. TrannyRex.
But nice work anyway! Keep on the good work! Mind the green!:argh:
Yours truly.

Well, it doesn't make me want to puke, but I think you should tone it down a bit. It looks like he was spraypainted.
Looks fantastic.

Mikko that's rough text man! I'll definetely do something for the green so you don't have to puke on your keyboard.:D
thanks detached- I think some of the color is also affected by spec lev. so I'll need to do something to that.
Madlight_1988 & Goul - Thank guys!

I rigged the T-rex and did some changes to the textures. Now I'll move on to the scientists. Because of the rig, the rex now can do all these neat tricks that are totally useless in a still picture, time well spent eh? :/
Rig on a model is never useless, i will be enthousiast to see your t-rex move after the challenge ;)
Your t-rex looks awsome by the way, i think the head is a big too large, but it dosen't matter because it will be more spectacular like this in your scene ;)
Wait now for the scientist ;)

That is one cool looking T-REX and a nice concept.
It's not a very original comment, but your T-rex is really really cool. Don't you want to make Jurassik Park 4?:D

Thanks everybody for your comments!
Goul - I'll most definetely do a some kind of animation with the rex. Maybe I'll post it someday.
agou - Yeah JP4 would be tempting:D, but is there any bigger carnivore dinosaur than the spinosaurus? If not, I'm in trouble.
mikkislehtola - Sorry Mikko I think the green is staying. Even if it makes you puke:twisted:.
Pretty awesome dino! Lovely work on the textures!
Keep it up..

I started modeling the first scietist. The on saying "T-that's a big dinosaur!" It's still a wip. Pants are just mirrored and the shoes are looking like crap.

Here's some wip of the scietist no. 1 texturing. I handpainted the textures to mach them to the models somewhat cartoony style. I want the scientists to look less "realistic" as the "dinotime". I guess it could give the pic some contrast. And the rex could say somethig like "wellcome to the real world - now u gonna die!" :)

Nice idea & great texturing/modelling. That T-Rex looks really cool;) So do that scientist, but his expression needs something, now he looks a bit too tired...
