View Full Version : how I can exclude mask from animating
how I can exclude mask from animating. I got two plates. One is building second is sky behind. I want sky to move behind it and in building windows I need sky reflecion also moving. Now I can't create two masks one for moving sky behind building one for windows.

Couldn't you apply the (inverted) mask to another layer of the building and stack that on top of the sky... should work, if I understand your question!
Thank you Stephan, but still I have no ide how to do it in AF.
Here's what it look like.http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/7780/build4bk.jpg
so my layers look like that:
- background sky
- building (it's all glass)
- reflected sky (flipped, mirrored)
If I create mask of the building on any sky plate when animating mask is moving=(

Ah, I understand. What I first recommended probably won't work then.
To animate the layer without the mask don't use the layer controls to move the layer. Instead use the filter "Transform", which lets you animate the keyframes as well.
Hope that helps!

Maybe OT, but what is the difference between transform and the transform filter? I never used it, as it didn't made any sense to me, I' d rather precompose into a new compostion
I've figured it out. Here's how I did it:
layer one: just windows frames
layer two: building (visibility turned off)
layer three: sky reflecting in windows with alpha track matte from layer two
layer four: background sky
