Hello.
I tried to connect surfaceLuminance.outValue to ramp.vCoord so that object color would change according to luminance (is it a right way to achieve this effect?), but when using 2 or more lights renders look wierd (like luminance is greater then 1 i think).
...or i just don't get how this node works.
Can outValue of surfaceLuminance node be greater then 1?

Surface Lum can be greater than 1 ...but V value of the ramp cant ....so you have to put a Set range node between them to set the range of Surf luminance to 0 to 1 of V value....i think

what about using multiply node?

Surface Lum can be greater than 1
How can it be greater than 1 ?
Luminance = 0.3 red + 0.59 green + 0.11 blue. (is Surface Luminance node using this formula or its counted for all lights as sum ?) Can R, G or B values be greater than 1 ?
i'm confused...
Can you please tell me how Luminance is counted for multiple lights so i could use Set range or
Multiply node...
