Hi guys,

I've just started doing a project for a display at a club, just some random moving stuff..

Anyway, i'm pretty crap in 3DS Max, and this is where I've started, i've managed to make my things move, etc, and export as a .mov at animation level...

Ok so, when I import this into AE it looks real jagged and the final render also looks jagged.

In both programs i'm using 720x576...

Note: The reason i'm bringing it into AE is to change the colours etc and also to see if I can raise the contrast nicely so its drops back to two colours, i'm trying to match the display to some flyers and posters i'm doing for the club > see link http://untitledlab.co.uk/pages/images/product.htm

Any tips on some way of doing this?

Tar peeps,

Rob.

Sounds like you need to turn on or boost the AA settings in the max renderer.

Since your importing into AE anyway you may want to consider using and image sequence (ie tga, tiff, flm ) instead of an .avi or .mov. Easier for AE when you star piling on adjustments or filters.

BTW it looks like you may want to play with a motion blur... by the looks of the flyers... big chunky objects tend to look a little odd without a blur IMHO...not to mention it will help smooth out any other aliasing issues.

Well, not sure about the AA, when I view the movie that export from 3DS max in quicktime, it looks perfect, just too many shades. Its only upon entereing AE that I get the jaggedness..

As for the motion blur, sounds like a good idea, cheers fella. :)
