View Full Version : breaking a glass
byvfx 09-20-2005, 07:08 PM i want to break a wine glass after it tips over and hits the ground. I don't want the enitre thing to shatter just the top part. any thought on how this can be done?

Do it the hard way (or easy way depending on how you look at it) Model your shards out of the glass and swap models on the frame it hits the ground.

im using reactor for the glass falling how would i incorporate the other models shards?
i tried simulating the 2 models.. but they react differently.. so does this mean i have to hand animate the shards breaking and going everywhere?

Maybe manually line up the broken glass and shards to where the 1st glass ends, and have it start from there rather than falling?
