View Full Version : Rendering in Safe Mode?
Unnamed422 09-20-2005, 12:25 AM Was thinking on how to free up memory that is being wasted by all the extra window background junk. And I know that when I boot in safe mode only 4 or 5 things are running compared to the 15 or so I cannot close out in User Mode. Can you use Maya and render in Safe Mode?
PS: I would try it myself but I am 40% through a long batch render and was just hoping to get a quick answer to satisfy my curiousness now.

make sure if you close out processes through the task manager you end the ones for Administrator (except explorer.exe) Don't shut down System, Local Service, or Network ones. Unless someone can clarify this. Don't want to crsh.

Thanks for the responses.
I already know that you can close down programs that are running in the background through task manager. My apologies for not being clear, but I cannot get them down to only 4-5 programs in User Mode like it does in Safe Mode.
Jeremy: Any particular linux you prefer? I tried that step once and had a headache from looking for drivers for my wireless network and video
Thanks
