CGTalk - Background Render

Hi, Im very New to Maya, and im wondering how i can render with a different background.. cause i really dont like that black background, and im wondering if there is a way to render it with a white background, and have a floor that you dont see the edges of it.. kinda like this.. http://highend3d.com/gallery/product_design/gallerylarge.php?id=466

Put a white shaded plane down as a floor?

select your camera and look for the background color in the Attribute Editor .)
