Its not surreal enough.

I know this sounds strange but, that's my opinion.
You are heading in the right direction, but any true surreal art has to have "real" elements involved. The only real object you have is the seashell(?) so far. You know that the best surrealists were, IMO, Dali and Magritte. They both made lots of real objects and then did strange things to them. Dali, making objects "soft" whereas Magritte made lots of objects HUGE.

here is some more inspiration for you.

You are headed in the right direction, but your composition, and subject matter isn't quite there.

Umm, hehe, by 'surreal' I merely meant the more generic usage 'dreamlike' as opposed to actually trying to do something in the historic tradition of surrealists. I'm definitely not going for any juxtaposition/distortion of real objects with a surrealist twisting ala Dali. I guess I just meant that it's a bit weird ;)

Thanks for the comments.

okay, no prob. :) Its got the dreamlike aspect. Also, the background is something Ive been seeing alot lately. Are you the one who posted something similar to it a couple weeks ago? It looks very familiar.

Hmm, no, but that type of background has a huge history within illusionistic ceiling painting. The type with the angels peeking over these long corridors of cloud tunnel.
