View Full Version : The noobiest of all nooby questions
benclark 09-19-2005, 11:51 AM Hi
Excuse the stupidity but I am a real novice at Zbrush.
Can anyone explain the AAHalf button to me? What is the difference between this and just zooming out? The learning materials I have don't explain it very well
Thanks very much

AAHalf reduces the Document to 50% resulting in the Aliased Picture to AntiAlias, thus displaying sharp edges. In ZBrush you must Paint at 200% and then scale the Final image to 50% ... HTH

That's not entirely true. You have that option, and that's what it's there for, but nobody's forcing you to actually use it. Lots of artists work at the highest resolution possible, then take two minutes to manually blur jagged edges without losing half their resolution...

Here's a link to a tutorial that does pretty good on getting you through the basics:
http://pixologic.com/zbrush/class/classroom.html (http://pixologic.com/zbrush/class/classroom.html)
This is a manual/ tutorial if you want a more thorough understanding of the tool. Look for the download button (22MB if you can handle it):
