This is an only a quick sketch in Alias Sketchbook Pro (it is quick and simple, but I don't believe that I go further with ASP)
The general idea (after many pencil sketches that I will scan later), is of a cataclysm, meteors (or another thing?) falling for all places and one or a couple of humans joust in the suitable place to a second fraction before the impact. It is not what an original idea is said... but hopefully the image that I have in the head will be seen "spectacular." And perhaps a little bit moving .
It has to give the idea of immensity, of to have hung a great sword of Damocles up, unavoidable and enormous
We will see how it evolves... the idea of common meteors is not definitive for anything

First of all: is absolutly confusing to me to adapt my work to the "milestones". I'm an organizative disaster, and sketch and colorize in any time... hope this work in the end (sorry my bad english)
Changes, but not many: it didn't convince me the idea of the meteors, so it was mutating toward "metallic balls with eyes" (yeah, that same). In fact, the concept went returning to my first idea that had discarded for not being "realist" (as if the simultaneous fall of millions of same meteors was commendable).
The different images show the change from the meteor in white and black, the color, the eye and the eye with flames (I drew the eye in another layer and I was erasing it, discovering like the flames appeared from below). I used dodge and burn intensively, besides the paintbrush.
The idea is to achieve a polished of chromed metal and wornout, as the eye of a metallic statue. And the figure of below, he stopped to be a couple (father son or like be) toward a single human figure, like in a first sketch that I made in paper.
The figure is based on a picture that I took out myself to myself (I didn't get model at this hour and I already wanted to plant the scene). I did spend looking for many images in different magazines and at the end I decided for this (it can change, oh yes, it can change)

I am very delayed with the posting of the images but I was really very, very, very busy... I hope it can update my thread much quicker starting from now! (well, maybe tomorrow)
Octothreat: Thank you!
Ducklator: Thank you!, and yes, it is an eye recorded in the metal. In the first sketches I had drawn eyes in the meteors, and now I incorporated them. I had my doubts on that, but I believe to have fulfilled the rules of the contest. Good luck you too.
mr. thurner: Thank you for your words!
black_hand_77: :) I didn't really think of the end of the world. Perhaps an arrival, perhaps a cataclysm or an invasion, but not the end. In the sketch I also draw a similar figure to a monk or a shaman, waiting that arrival... we will see how it goes!
Fiolka Alexandre: Yes, if the figure remains as well as it is, he needs more panic. But possibly change toward something prospective, wanted or unavoidable... or perhaps be allowed to win for the panic! RUN! Thank you and good luck you too!

Adding panic to the scene! or at least proving to see that it happens. All this drawn without thinking too much in for where the thing goes... except for the face (I took a reference picture for the expression and the lights) and the trails of smoke (thank you to the book of the 100 years of National Geographic) but it is even a mere WIP, the hands are on without care, as the shoulders. But well, there it is.

Changes in the sky... it continues being a draft and the body will change a lot (even more, the whole figure possibly changes, moving toward the original idea of the shaman). Everything continues being a great color stain, in spite of some details (the face, the hair, the eye in the sky).
In fact, I continue thinking of to erase everything and to begin from zero (nah).
Opinions, please? CU

CU
