I'm in the middle of a project (I'm editing my project in premiere pro) Is there a way that I can import my premiere pro project into After Effects 6.0? Whenever I import the premiere pro file into after effects it just imports the files. Is there a way I can import whatever was on my timeline in premiere pro to the timeline in After effects as all seperate layers? (I was under the assumption that I could cut my entire project in premiere, import my project to AE, apply my effects and colour correction to my individual clips, and then export my footage from AE as a finished video file that I can burn to DVD with Encore)

well the general idea is that you can copy paste from timeline to timeline (ppro => ae). i havent tried that yet although adobe says it works ( all aps in the video suite support copy-paste from app to app). BUT!! i cant remember if that works in ae v.6 and ppro v.1 or AE v.6.5 and ppro v.1.5 and up.

but if you have ppro you can do the color corection there. the effects have been updated to match those of ae.

Do you think If I brought my plug-ins from after effects, like magic bullet into premiere pro1.5 they would work?

Most plugins would work, but unfortunately Magic Bullet does not. It uses custom controls and routines which the standard AE host in Premiere can't handle. I'm not entirely sure though, since i don't use Premiere and only can report what other users say. The general gist is that you need the special PPro version of Magic Bullet to be able to work.
