View Full Version : How to slow down particle speed?

Hi Melforumers

I'm beginner in Mel and have to fix a small problem with an emitted particle field.

I would like my particles to slow down after a while, either completely stopping or moving very slowly. The stop has to come gradualy and can be controled with particle life info.

I'm sure this is really easy, but Im quite lost in Mel and the few attempts to control particle velocity havent worked out so far.

You could try a drag field with a magnitude greater than 0 and smaller than 1, e.g. 0.1.

You can break down connection to the Current Time attr of your particle shape. Set keyframe to it or create some expression like time*0.01. That will isolate the particle system simulation from the global time of the scene.
