View Full Version : MegaManX 4min fanmovie ^_^
RaphaelCatossi 09-16-2005, 04:40 PM Ok guys, i've got this movie finished. Couldn't post the progress here because i didn't have internet access until a week ago.
Anyway, i've done all it's modeling, texturing (if there's any), rigging, skinning, animation and voices. The songs i've got from the Snes game using Sndrec32 and Zsnes (Snes emulator), then croped the songs in Premiére.
I've used everything without license, tho i tried to contact capcom to ask'em for it, they didn't send any reply. SO, you can't display it in pulic places, sell it, buy it, eat it, bla bla bla...

The animation seems a bit slow paced for megamanm. His abdominal area was a bit stiff through the entire animation and his shoulder/chest twisted way too much in a few parts (hehe, too much of the 2d sprite motion there). His walk/run cycles seemed wierd (looks like his legs are moving faster then he is actually traveling too); and his fingers moving the way they did when he walks seemed wierd (I don't think they should sway like that). Seemed weird the flaoting exit thing didn't react to his hits either. When he got shot with his own blast, looks like he gets shot in the middle of his chest which would mean he wouldn't rotate as much as he did. The orientation of his hands through out the animation seemed weird too; usually the fingers point towards the body and the thumb forward, but in the animation it seemed the thumb pointed a bit more inward and the other fingers a bit more towards the back instead. Hope you don't mind the critiques. Keep animating, you'll get better with practice:thumbsup: .

Yeah, that was such an extensive crit, but welcome as well, all you have said, is unfortunelly right. I'll keep praticing, no problem with that! :)

well, like your disclaimer said, this animation is just for fun/entertainment. And IMO, things got repetitive pretty fast, without much of a story, the constant run cycles kinda got abit dull. Although i really like the texturing job and the laser efx, the novelty of the mirror maze kinda wore off.
So ya, i agree with what Ace said, but besides the animation, it coulda just used a better planned story with more direction. Still, it was fun seeing ol' Megaman again! Next time maybe throw in one of his classic villans! Cutman, Crashman, Metalman....tons to choose from that's for sure!

i liked mega man, the story was not very good imo..... and the animation of mega was ok, i would fix his shot animation and when he gets hit as well..... but i agree a better planned story would benefit this movie... great job
