I have a question,...
I modeled a head and a body in Subdivs and then converted both into polys. Now i wanna make a smooth transition between 'em.
I tryed it with snap to points, but diddnt worked propper !

hi,
combine the two objects, then select the sew edges and soften/harden these edges with the option on All Soft (180)

thxX 4 the reply, ... i tryed, ... bud this doesnt seem to solve my problem , ... maybe I havn't pointed to it correctly! =)
ok, ... just 4 understanding, ...
I create 2 poly planes, ... one with the denstiy 5/5, and one with
10/10. Now i move some vertices of the 10/10 plane up and down, to get a saw or something. And now I try to fill the hole between the 2 planes as soft as possible. I could do it with the create polygon tool and snap to curves but then I get hard edges.
The main problem is, that I have the double vertices on 1 plane.
1) Ho do i create the same amount of vertices along the 5/5 plane =?=
2) How could I soften the result =?= (maybe with Polygons/smooth)
hmm , ... I haven't modeld correctly, cause the head has more details as the body =/ , bud the 2 models r real cool, and I wanna combine 'em as nICE as possible =))
Maybe U or somebody could help "!!!"

after you created the new polies for the seam, use the tools to delete double vertices and edges and after that run a soft/hard edge tool over the result to fix the normals.
that should solve the problem.

thxX, ... It's hard work, ... and im still not done. I want it to look perfect. =)
I have again a question , ... (and they wont be off 4 a long time)
How do you begin a character modeling ?!
I start with a subdiv. sphere and switch to polygon mode. Then I create some Xtra polys with the split polgon tool and extrude 'em.
and so on, ... refining, moving, refining, moving, until it seems to be good. Then i have everyting that i want.
I model the head, the body (torso, arms, legs),the feet and the hands.
Do you do it all in 1 ???
Just questioning.

PS: I'll submit the modeld parts in JPEG format shown here, that u could give me an impressin ! hf
