it is my idea: our world full of huge spectacular arachitectures..how they can be built in such a savarge age? It must be a huge powerful and artistic kind to make it out!!
what funny if we found the nine wonders were created by the giants!!
so i have the desire to paint the idea!!

Really beautiful work so far! I'm loving the colors, the character design... everything! I know you're probably not there yet, but eventually, some more atmostpheric hazing or the hint fo fog to push some of the background elements more into the background could help. Good luck!

I think its no need to widen the canvas.. everything is just as it should be if u ask me. MAybe something nice and interesting to the left upper side, but thats it.. something to balance the pic a bit and make the eye traveling thru the whole image. Keep up the good work!

hi! i have enter the final step of the coloring!most of the elements of the pic hve been settleed in their right palces!!
I add the cloud_giant to enlarge the lovely existance!
and more light to the front man...
next steps I think is to add more little people to surround the giants..
will it be more complex??

Looking good! There are so many nice touches, like the castle in the clouds. And everything else of course!

My first instinct looking at this latest shot was, noticing thjat you took out the trees that were sketched in on the sides, which served as a great compositional framing. But now that I've looked at it more - it didn't need them. They made the giants look smaller, and so the theme works better now. Still, it could use a little more room on the very top to let the composition breathe a bit more and to avoid the tangent with the top of the building and the top of the frame.

Compositionally, the only other point that I'd bring up is that the whole left side of the image is really quite empty. I can think of a few suggestions: Crop the image more... Add another giant on the left side of that sunlit filed there (maybe sitting down, leaning against a mountain?) How about a crown od villagers in the very low left? It fits your goal of adding more real people for scale, as well as fills up that left side nicely! :-)

Anyhow, just a suggestion. Great work, I want a large print of it when you're done! ;-)

Yupi, I really love the concept! This reminds of my early age, when I got inspired by those crazy fairytales, and the brothers Grimm and legends.. Great style, the details on the castle are fantastic. I think that the idea of adding people arround is superb, it will contrast the scale of the giants (which look a little bit like children playing when there's nothing to compare them to). Waiting to see what comes next :)

Excellent Work Guo Jian!

Nice characters and overall atmosphere and design! A children's book illustration style is always a winner for me!

However, I do have a crit, or a question rather:

The foreground giants seems to be the most interesting part of the painting, but however, my eyes are involuntarily drawn to the giant in the background on the left. I think this is because the overall contrast of the piece is very even and the characters in the bg lack some depth. Maybe you can add a bit of fog in the bg? Just a suggestion, hope you don't mind.

Great illustrative style. Right now it looks like something youd see in a fairy tale, id like to see some indications of the past civilization in there, maybe one of the patches on the giant's shoulder is a radioactive of biohazard sign? I like seeing a little something dark going on in a painting like this.

hi there! I think this is just beautiful! but I have one suggestion... the cloud castle on the left is too sharb at the moment I think. After all its somewhere way back but it doesnt looks like its there. Coz of its familliar structure and its sharpness it comes directly to the front and brings too much attention. In some of the previous submissions I think it was just right blury and somehow misty. I'd keep that. other than that, its great! Love the image :)

Great piece, lots going on, wonderful colours. My only worry is that the giants seem to get bigger the further away they are from the viewer, so the giants in the foreground are small compare to the others (edit: unless the guy holding the scroll is much bigger than the other people?)

Hey Guo Jian! Is that the final image? Make no mistake, I think it looks great and I could tell you added more depth and the giants on the foreground really became the centre of focus with warmer tones and better contrast. Excellent work......but then, what happened to the sky on the top left corner. Is is my monitor or what, why has it become totally grey? Please add some colour to it as it looks like the colour has mysteriously been washed away.
