Hey everyone...

Came across these things of mine on an old geocities site I made for myself several years ago.

I'm posting them for kicks only...and to show how far I've come in the last 3-4 years, for those of you who know my work (that's approximately how old these 2 clips are).

Enjoy! And feel free to laugh at them, make fun of them, and rip them apart! It's what I enjoy doing myself when I watch them!

Demoreel 2002 (http://www.theonlyt.com/Main/Animations/Old/reel.avi) (Avi, 5.5mb)

My incredibly unoriginal Pixar rip-off (http://www.theonlyt.com/Main/Animations/Old/lamptest.zip) (Zipped avi, 1mb)

Please keep in mind, that at the time I made these two things...I actually thought that they were amazing....and I was fully planning to send that "reel" out in order to bring in freelance work for myself. Btw...."mind warp studios" was the company I was also fully planning to start! ;) HA!

Anybody else have any reeeallly old work to show? All thread-hijackings are acceptable and fully endorsed by myself in this thread....since I'm sure we can all enjoy a good laugh from our really old work!

Sorry...but my conscience is forcing me to give this thread 5 stars :D

Wow, lol! I loved your blue tea-pot image.

Reminds me to save my work and see how far i've come.

And I loved your mime animation, really funny.

I'll pitch in. I found an old demo of mine from 1999.

Watching it is painfull for me. I figure that this thread will help the newbies to see that they probably won't suck forever, then again some of them might.

I can't believe how far I've come.

It is showing up dark on my monitor, so you may need to adjust your brightness.

Also here is my very first camera tracking. I was so proud of it. It's funny how the big steps up we make quickly fade away. Now this is simply taking up space, but once it ment something. The only real things in the scene are the cardboard box and the blue screen.

My second camera tracking attempt. My computer filled with water a little submarine pariscope pops up. One of the pictures on the wall goes through the wall. I didn't care. I was proud of it. Looking back is hilarious.

Hey blinxpro....cool! Thanks for sharing your old stuff :)

I agree that it's a good idea to save your old work somewhere, so you can look back and see how far you've come.

As for the codecs in my videos....I rendered them out back when there was no DivX and when I had no idea what I was doing. I believe the one used in both videos is Indeo Video 5.1

great idea tyson, I posted the same idea a couple of years ago on some other forums...

anyway, this was my absolute first animation in 3d and I was really proud of it (at the time)

I made it in 1999 when I was like 14 with 3dsmax 2.5 or 3.0, I even have the max file left....

this one is rendered out to indeo video I guesse,

I'm to lazy to covert it into divx now tho...

edit: oh, and btw... this one was a bit inspired by pixars "Red’s Dream (http://www.pixar.com/shorts/rd/index.html)"
