this concept is great! I can feel my pulse quickening at the very thought of having to perform under such conditions. I wouldn't deviate from this concept and your colors are starting to really go together well. If I could change anything at all with your image at this point it would be the composition. Not in the sense of the angle because I belive the angle is by far the most dramatic and beautiful way to depict this scene, however, I think the image has a bit of a "centralized" feel to it. I am picturing a wonderful tail from one of the beasts in the water curving up and out of the frame only to come in and cut off a "tiny" bit of the view of the buildings. It will put even more dynamic into an already wonderfully developing piece.
Best of luck! You are nicely set into the challenge already.... no need to worry about time restraints!

Ok just checking this out again. Colors are coming along nicely. Like the reds now! I think I like the first angle better than the top view as the waves are sooo splendid. Granted it is much scarier with your newer angle but somehow I keep seeing all of these beautiful scary creatures coming from the water... AND I love the wave, it fixes those compositional quirks I was talking about. The light beams nice too. Are you still going to go with the sharks? I loove sharks (and not just as frightening beasts but as cool creatures)... anywho. Keep on going.

I'm quite unsure about the reversed camera angle. Looks very frightening, but agree with Crystal, love those waves and light rays. Subscribed here :applause:
You're doing a pretty amazing scene

Hi Crystal: Glad you dropped by again, thanks and hope you continue giving me your precious insights! Well....agree with you, that the reverse angle thou scary..specially with that "rope seen almost cut off behind his back" ! ..may still not be so appealing compared to the previous angle "The sharks point of view",,:) And OOh S,S, Yes The Sharks will definately be there. Its just the background composition till now:)
Hey Valerio! Thanks a lot for your encouraging comments, Im definately sad that I may have to drop the reverse camera angle for now:( ..
But sure do hope to pep-up the original!..)

I really like your last sketch! Itīs a great point of view and I definitely think you should go for that one.
You can show the sharks/creatures down there anyway.
Whatever sketch you go for Iīm sure the result will be great

I like your idea. Re you going to make the city sort of decrepid to tie in with the water flooding the streets? Empty skeletons of tower blocks and that kind of thing? Also, i think the rope may be a bit too thick in the last one, more spectacular to have him walking a wire thin rope... Keep it up mate, this is coming along well.
Borro
09-21-2005, 04:42 PM
Hmm I like the second angle better. Gives a greater perspective on the height and if you put the camera real close to the rope it'll look gorgous. :) Keep it up.

#14 and shrooms are my favorite, the rope concept is awsome, i just like them shrooms, there is some magic in that
the last one I think looses the depth a bit, comparing to # 14
anyway that some gooooood stuff

I like the lightining on the mushrons , but i donīt think that is spetacular.
The shark works better to the theme.

Your concept is really nice but I think you should use much bigger brushes. It wan't be so messy. I think you can add shark biting rope walkers leg or just rope just before him ;)
Good luck

Hi! I like your idea very much! Especially I like the atmosphere of danger in your work! Good luck!

Great concept, puts up instantly a new perspective of an armageddon scenario, sharks as the rulers of the ground are very cool (silly idea pops up, kings of the groundlevel team up with some nasty gulls to pick on the ropes, food drops, sharks do the ruff killing job and gulls get what remains of the dish :p).
The former cam angle was more epic, i'd go for the waterlevel perspective, its more intense from what i get of the feeling for the scene, the high contrasted and dramatic light looks great, and even if it is from distance, you still can feel much of the ropedancers feelings, i guess the situation up there is dramatically and spectacular in it self and the low cam position shows well the danger.
Keep up the great work, looking forward to your next update

hello samson. just checking your wip. tnx for passing by. though i like the story telling of the second sketch i feel the first one tell a grander - more spectacular story. i just feel you can bring a couple of sharks (interesting to see them mutated) into the foreground.
well thats about it. will be checking in from time to time. cheers:thumbsup:
