Erm hello all, i'm not sure where to start here. But i'm 3DJohn and i've been a victim of a cruel, and vicious attack by hacker(s). i used to have a proud seat in the great house of C4D Cafe, with the same name, before it was taken way from me, by the true events that have occured to me in the last few months.

I have been hacked, spammed, accused of plagarism, and had my reputation obliterated because of several or one hackers dreams to sabotage my entire online exsistance.

It started in early June this year, and i'm only now just back online. the said hackers had gathered information about me, my company, and the internet sites and forums, that i belonged too. they prodceeded to block me from several websites, such as C4D Cafe, 3Dattack, and even yahoo search engines, once they had "shut me out" shall we say, they ruined my life week by week, each week they were posting comments, works of art, and other correspondants, acting as myself, these comments were not my own, nor were the artworks, in particular several posts on the great website that is C4Dcafe were posted, that were not my artwork at all, but the artworks of great fellow modellers around the internet, such as French Cinema 4D, and 3DCafe, this was in turn, totally and utterly destroying my friendships, reputations, and respect that i had been given or gained at these websites. They were all, and i believe still are now, under the impression that it was me that had posted these models, and tried to pass them off as my own. Therefore getting me banned from several websites. That was bad enough, people thinking that i had passed other people's work off as my own. Then i also had several thousands of pounds taken from my bank account, and my ISP was revoking my internet connection, due to disgusting comments left in several places, and offensive emails, sent to many many people. What i do not understand is why me? what have i do to deserve this hatred? it has taken me 4 months to get back online, and write offical apologies to my ISP and other such websites for the behavior of these hackers, and the said people thinking it was me! once i got back online last week, there were horrible emails, detailed my being banned from several websites, and warnings from my isp, the great people at c4d cafe, had sent me an email, which detailed me as a plagiriser, this hurt deeply, especially becuase i know i didn't do this, what really upsets me though is that i have lost so much more with being banned from websites such as French Cinema 4D, & C4D Cafe, they are and will continue to be at the forfront of the best modelling community forum websites around as it this great website. But as i'm banned, i have no way of contacting the admin staff at any of these websites, nor will i ever be able to visit these great sites again.

This is very distressing and infuriating as this wasn't me doing any of this, but how can you explain that to people, i'm writing this as a warning to other fellow respectable users.

Please Please please, have a good firewall, virus detection, spyware, and adware prevention on your computers, i have lost 3 most important things in my life because of hackers!!
i have lost 1 - my reputation within modelling websites, thinking i have plagirised other people artworks. 2 - over £3000, and 3 - my dignity. i feel so utterly violated by this, i wish there was more i could do about it, but i unfortunatly have to accept that i'll never get back into those websites, or ever ever get my money back.

Please don't underestimate hackers, they have totally and utterly ruined my life for the last 4 months, make sure you are protected, i wouldn't wish this to happen to anyone else out there.

I wrote a pm to 3DKiwi on c4dCafé.

Maybe he can unban you from c4dcafé.

I'm not registred on the french cinema forum, but I'm sure someone can help you further with it.

Whoever did it ... I think it was personal. Because he has knowledge of Hacking & 3D.

If the money dissapeard with visa ... then their might be an option to get it back.

I once bought a cd @ an online cd store.
Their database got hacked & I (& a lot of other byers on that database) suddenly lost several 100 €'s on porno on my visa bill.
I contacted Visa within 30 days & Got a refund within 10 days.

I don't know how your money got lost, but there must be some traces.
Transferred to another bank account.
wasted on online shops (shipping adress, ip adress)
...

I hope the nightmare dissapears quickly.

Hope it was any help,
Fré

Hmmm ! As a moderator from frenchcinema4D.com, I follow all your story on C4D cafe and your related posts in our forum. Of course, you have the doubt benefice but after all the faces you gives us ( surprised, not me-follow my finger, wuaaahhaaa-I-f**k all of you, mother s*****er, etc... , etc...), I personnally not disposed to trust you for this time again but i'm not really concerned, the 3DJohn who stole the work from Frenchcinema4D users don't take time to grab mine, certainly not good enough. Please come on our frenchcinema4d within few days and explain what your situation is to the concerned artists "you" plagiarise, and maybe we'll open your IP... I just talk for me, I'm not sure the others moderators follow my opinion !

Gosh.. What a cruel and awful experience to go through.
You have my sympathy. I really hope you can piece things back together again and get through this bad patch and come out the other end stronger than ever before.
Thanks for the Firewall protection advice.

Sorry 3dJohhn I am not buying this. You even said a few weeks ago you would come ans apologise.
Send me a mail with tangent proof of your innocence and I will try to un-ban you from the café, attack, portal and the french forum.
This has to be very very hard proof on paper from your isp for instance, and if you really have been stolen money from I would like to see some proof of that to. I will handle these papers discretely.
What you did at the café is beyond belief and can and will not be dealt with lightly.
And if this is your way of showing remorse I am deeply disappointed.

You know how to reach me.

I think it is wise to close this subject and let John Biffa contact me on my iChat or mail.
I'll get back to the moderators of the concerned boards if and when things are cleared.

thanks.

We don't want to get a big mess here, it is not worth it I think.

Why didn't you contact the police?

Daoine
09-14-2005, 01:38 AM
Or at least use a friend's computer to view the websites and post a warning that you don't have control over your user accounts. That, right there, would have spared your reputation. Not jumping to conclusions, but this all does seem a bit fishy.

Sorry not buying this at all unless ip checks and other proof indicate it wasnt you making the offending posts. I have 5 years experience in admining websites and dealing with people who do bad things then pretend it wasnt them and this post appears just as contrived as all those excuses I've heard before.

Heh. Nice conspiracy theory. It seems improbable that someone would hack you and then spend the time carrying out an elaborate scheme to destroy your online reputation by posting stolen artwork on a bunch of 3D forums. I could buy someone using a keystoke logger to gain access to your bank accounts, but not the rest.

I got hacked ages ago by who knows...ended up with a bill for 650$ from some international porn site. when it was all settled, the people at Timewarner found that someone had Ghosted my IP and used creditcard info from my comp. Ghosting an ip is pretty rare tho from what im told, and not easy to truly "Ghost" an IP.

i agree with base and dcb. i dont buy it. no1 can stay offline for 4 month cos of a hack. you could easily post from your friend's pc or something.

If a hacker has control over a pc, he can simply post through a backdoor for example. There are several trojans that allow full or partial access, therefore IP checking is not entirely bullet proof. Simply having internet explorer without proper virus scanner is enough to get you infected
Then there's IP spoofing
IP Ghosting
etc etc etc etc.

Personally I can't believe people would be stupid enough to post free resources of one well known site on another and claim it as their own.
Therefore, I am willing to consider that you have been tricked. However, if a second "mistake" will be made in the near future...you know what happened to InTheCity or Sanfranguy. People will eventually discover it, especially since we all seem to know each other ;)

I hope admins will realize that IP checking is no proof.

@c4dPortal.
We are not only speaking of stealing finished models. 3DJohn (Epton design, Wolverine) copied whole wip's and reproduced them in the café, he was telling where he had difficulties and how he would go from there and such.

He did a SUV from france and the french guy did only the model with a clay texture, on the café john reproduced this wip and a member asked him whether he would texture the model, John responded that he was not sure yet. On critique about the modeling itself he would answer, Yes I know its not perfect but I'll leave it like that for the moment...

This is not only stealing models, it is stealing a whole forum life.

Upon request by admins of this and other forums I can send you a compilation of all 3dJohns messages. There will not be a shred of a doubt left.

I could go on and on about this guy,...

If this is true, I cant believe it though, then we have another reason to be very very carefull with using windows. Yeah, get alternative email clients, browsers, good firewall and constant virus checking..

Whether this is a cover-up or not, having virus scanner and firewall and adware/trojan buster is always a good idea. (Linux/MacOS instead of Windows, Opera/FireFox instead of iExplorer, PocoMail etc. instead of Outlooks and so on...)

I dont have that much RAM, but I'm still happy to see Outpost Pro (without doubt the no.1 firewall out there), Mcafee (Professional v7, fast and resource-friendly unlike the newer versions) and PestPatrol (top of the pop in havocing pests) eating lots of resources.

Sounds a bit funny though that someone pretented to be 3DJohn for such a long time -not just posting wips and stuff but also OT-stuff like how happy he was when he got new version of C4D

This or that, I'm glad he (whoever he actually was) got busted, so things can go back to normal.

Well first of all, I feel sorry for you. You seem like a lonely guy trying to fit in a world that would have easily embraced you. You have become a good lesson for those that may follow in your footsteps. The only solution for you at this moment would be to apologize to every artist you stole work from. I honestly don't think you fully fathom the harm in stealing other people's artwork and claiming it as your own. Come clean about what you have done and quit the blame game.

Just make sure your images are watermarked with your name and copywrite info (big enough so the image cant be cropped or painted out). Its a shame, and distracting from the image, but sounds like its becoming more and more neccasary if you care about your work.

Well, those are some mighty tenacious hackers. Not to sound unsympathetic, but why on earth would they go to such lengths to single out poor little you? Certainly, they could be expending their prodigious computer skills on something more profitable? The money I could accept, but why would they care about your status on a bunch of geeky forums... :hmm:
