Currently I have three Dual 64bit Xeon workstations in my renderfarm batching out my animation by day, but by night I want to add the rest of the machines in the office to the farm when their respective users have all gone home.
Now in order to join the farm, all I have to do is start up a backburner server where it will find the manager and be assigned a task. However, when each user comes into work the next morning he's going to want to close the server/MAX so he can get on with his own work.
My question is, once he closes that server when it's mid-render, will the manager miss that frame and simply skip to the next frame in the animation or will it flag that frame as unrendered and assign it to another server to be completed / restarted?
