CGTalk - Stormtracer vs. CPT ?

Hi,

What is the core difference between Stormtracer and Coreparticletools ? I worked only with Stormtracer with sprite technology and know CPT not really good. I mean what can i produced with CPT that can Stormtracer not and the other way around?
