$40 for a pretty damn good cd with a lot of pictures, shadow maps, bump maps... too bad it has bonus max shaders... I doubt Maya can make any cense of those.. but that is a damn good price! :)

Yeah, I totally dig Max 5's modeling features --with the way I have my shortcut keys set, polygonal modeling flies, and I can go lightning fast.
I bought the Texture CD you mentioned. I'm coming up here in a few weeks being able to use it --looks pretty dang good, initially. The Max materials are a bonus, but if I recall, it's just the different maps already placed into the different channels for you --diffuse into diffuse, specular into specular channel, etc. A little time saver...but you could do them pretty fast yourself....

hrmm... awesome.. thanks for the info about the materials.. they don't sound too... amazing... that would be a bad thing to have
