Hi everybody! this is the first challenge in wich I´ll participate. Anyway here is my sketch, the Idea is how amazing would be if being in a Safari or something like that and witnessing a great tiger playing whith a baby like if he was one of its own tiger babies. I´ll have to pay a lot of attention to the expression of the characters so that it doesn´t look like the tiger is going to eat him.

Anyway I´m allready seeing great things around, good luck to everyone.

hey man this is a super concept! the sketch is nicely portrayed! love to see it in 3d man!hehe one thing though the baby should not have diaphers if it has been with the tiger for long!:)

cheers and welcome to the challenge!

Hi everybody, I started some texturing, eventhought I still want to make some adjustments in the modelling of the head

Texturing is better than modeling of course.
i'm not saying that you have not done it,but you better take another look at reference picture of what you are modeling:)

Just testing the hair, I like the way the half of the back looks, but there´s a lot of work to do on the front legs and the head. I could use some help about the hair on the face. ;)

WOW, that tiger really looks cool! i like the texturing very much, although you might want to add some "glossiness" to his fur, you know, like when the light is reflected differently by each hair, as if there are going waves of light across the fur when he is moving....err... i hope that does make sense :D
anyway, he does look quite "friendly"... very good! :buttrock:

jmturbo
11-24-2005, 05:04 PM
Thank´s for your post Zongo, I Like the idea of the glossy effect but I´m not sure about how to do it, so if you´ve got any idea about how to do it, I´d be glad to read it :) , Anyway I´ll try some testing on that, Cheers man.

Thank´s for your comment Melkao, I agree with you, I now the head looks a little extrage, But I´m not sure what is wrong. Anyway I´m tired os trying to fix it, and time is up, so I´ll keep going. Cheers everybody

you lack reality my friend your image is more of a painting than 3d.the tiger s face is not real at all the (face bone) structure is more humanly than real tiger.body is fine.i am sure you can improve it.all the best

kieljan
12-05-2005, 07:50 PM
Thanx for your comments dude...C'mon get in for the finish...I don't think 3d images should be real-looking - and it's probably best to go for an illustration type look in your case. Well just try and get in for the finish for the now!

Ok, I´ve finally made it, It´s not as good as it could be, but I´ve given my best, and I´m really proud of at least finished the image. In first wanna thank my friends on the job who have helped me all the way and Aveline thank´s for putting your final magic touch on the image. Wanna thank the friends that helped me posting their advices, they were very helpful :) Thank you guys.

The Story.

This happened to me some years ago, I´m a dicovery channel photographer, and on that trip we went to india to take some pics of monkeys.

It was very early that morning, and the day was just beautiful, I was in the jungle, it was so peaceful. Then it sounded like a laugh. I was alone and thought it was my imagination, so I relaxed again. But suddenly I heard it once again, I runned to the place where it came from, when suddenly I saw a great tiger, and so I drop down, so he didn´t see me. I looked down again and THEN saw this kid playing with that tiger. What the hell, I cold not believe my eyes. I tryed to calm down, and look again, It was real!, it was happening. So I took my camara out and took this picture. Then I decided to get back to the camp to tell the others.

When I got the people to the place the tiger and the kid were gone, and never seen again, and for sure nobody would bealive me if I had not taked this SPECTACULAR PICTURE :) .
