I can't get the 50%Grey plugin to work in R8. If I load a Version 7 scene with a 50G tag it loads correctly, but I'm doing a new scene and I can't find the 50G tag in the New Tag menu.

Am I doing something wrong? I've copied the 50Grey folder to Plugins. And pleeease don't tell me it doesn't work with R8....

If it does work you may find it under the new expression menu--not the new tag menu.

Nope, looked there. I've since found out it doesn't appear in a V7 scene after all, so I have a bad feeling it's incompatible. I can see "Loading plugin 50Grey" on the splash screen though, so something's going on.

Can you remind me what this plugin does? Maybe there's an alternative that works in R8....

It takes a polygon object with a luminance channel and creates lights at each vertex, coloured according to the luminance channel. It's for faking GI lights and it's pretty cool. I hope there is an alternatice - my COFFEE programming isn't up to looking in the source to see whats wrong :)

try ditools, dicloner. you can clone lights accross a surface and they will take on the colour of the surface underneath...
