View Full Version : texturing or skinning first ?
Dimebag 09-12-2005, 12:49 AM We've taken the choice of skinning before texturing, so I began assinging ID's to polys once this task completed. So now I select my IK chains and the vertices wont follow anymore. All attractions (abs effect) are apparently lost. Is this a real hard lesson of life?
Thanks in advance for any attention!

I didn't know you could copy/paste a skin onto an other char... I don't trust that too much but it's the only way I found.
I copy and paste Skin or save and load weights all the time without a problem. If you can do the textures first as you will get a better idea of tearing in the textures when the character starts to deform for skinning tests. In production it gets done the other way around all the time since rigging and textures are happening at the same time.
