Hi all,

Started with a little synthesizer I got at home.
I use 3DsMax 7 and VRay-lite.
Any comments?

Looking good Thomaz, I like the lighting, I don't know to much about this object, but it seems to be coming along.

Keep it up.

The model looks very good although it's hard to judge because I don't know the reference. Doesn't it have some labels or such?

very nice start! it looks exacly as my jewel :)
but i think the name is micro korg, and not mini korg.
keep it up!

Thank you for your comments!

arpeggioator: Yes I made a mistake, it is a Micro Korg.

I just use my own model as reference. It's very nice to have a reference which you can pick up turn around and stuff like that.

Yesterday I started with the back. But I was not pleased with the result of the microphone fitting.
Here some more pictures. One of the knobs and one of the back:

Oh by the way: I will add some labels on the interface (with the knobs). But first I will finish the model.
The materials are all quick ones, but I like the result already. So maybe I will tweak them some but not that much.

For the lightning I use a omni with a inverse square falloff and a skylight in Vray with the enviroment map attached.
It is all very basic but I like the result already :)

Re-created the microphone fitting. Now I am pleased with it.
Next thing will be the in- and outputs on the back.

Today I created the holes on the backside. I don't have much time to work on the model so my progress is a little slow...
What do you think so far? Any Crits?

I like it very much. takes me back to when i was still very interested in music. Do you have a wireframe render? r u modelling in nurbs or subd? your geometry looks very clean and precise which is what i like. As a suggestion, try to make this a quality product shot. which usually has bright highlights. I guess check out korg or rolandus.com for product shots that look like a magazine ad. or better yet look in a magazine for lighting styles and try to recreate them!
the hdri youre using makes it look pretty good. Im keeping my eye on this one!

best of luck!

Hi Will Choi,
I don't have a wirerender yet. I use Subd's on all objects except for the interface. This is just a beveled Spline.
Here some more renders. The DINN inputs and a clay-render. Unfortunately I saved my moddel after I added the gray material to all objects (I don't have a material override). So I need to assign all materials again :(

Hi all,
I finished the back. Here some detail renders and an overview.
Things left to do:
- bottom plate
- LED-display
- textures (interface)

For those interested in the sound of the machine: mp3's (http://www.korgcanada.com/e/demonstration/)

Does anyone have a nice idea for an enviroment? Will Choi wanted to see a product shot like render but maybe there are some other good ideas?

Doesn't anyone have some comments? I will post some wires soon.

Here some wires. It's a little hard to render some nice wires...

It has midi and stuff. I paid around $280 for it, but thats in the EU.

But no render suggestions? Maybe a chocolate version?

-edit- ah you are from the netherlands... Ik kocht m voor iets van 350 euro.

For sure! Those oldies rock! Well the sound-engine in this little machine is a lot better then a lot of other digital synth's but it's still not the old analog sound:sad:

It has been a long time but here another render.
This time I almost finished the interface and changed the lighting and other render settings for some photo-realistic renders.
Crits are very welcome.

Simply amazing. How'd you get the textures for the interface? Photo?

Well... ehm... the photo didn't work. So I did this in Photoshop on a 'not much to do evening'...
