Hi all~

http://www.youngmindz.com/movies/fur_test.mov

I test rendered, a simple animation, but i can't get rid of the flickering problems in my animation..
I am using xsi softimage..
I tried rendering AA -1 2 with threshold of .2 I am using rapid motion disabled ray tracing..
using shadow maps. I have 2 shadows casting from key light and rim light.

I then tried pumping up the AA settings to 0 2 and the threshold to .06 but no change on the flickering of the fur.. ( also tried filtering from Box to Triangle)

can anyone take a guess of have any suggestions to why this flickering is happening?
any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated~

thanks

have u tried it without using rapid motion? we've had some issues here at work with shadows using rapid motion, not fur though, but it might be worth a try

hey jason,,
thanks for your reply..
no haven't tried it yet without rapid motion..
i used rapid motion because they suggested in xsi,, that you should use rapid motion for xsi for better and faster results..

well i tried moving the key light further apart from my character and that seems to get rid of the flickering,, and I will take that solution for now,, ..
