Hi,

I got my new laptop weeks ago from work and was trying to install the software from them needed for the jobs. Everything went allright, Photoshop/After Effects ...no problem. But after I installed Maya 6.5, I noticed some parts in Maya were missing :

- Hypershade / Shader attributes : Everything under Bump map is missing for every shader.
- Artisan : Top options of the Brushes are missing.

I'm sure there's more, but I stopped checking and worked on my regular pc, since work needed to be done. Last week we got a license for Maya 7, so I thought, maybe this would be my answer. But alas, same problem in Maya 7 :(
Does anyone seen this problem before, and better : does he/she know the answer to fix this ?

System info :

Dell inspiron 9300

- pentium M 1.86 ghz
- 1,5 gb ddr2 ram
- gforce 6800 go
- 17" widescreen 1920x1200
- 60 gb harddrive

Latest drivers from Dell website installed, I think.

delete the maya folder under program files and try to completely reinstall maya.
otherwise try to (backup and) delete your user pref file.

Thnx, but unfortunately no solution. Even deleted all Maya/Alias keys from the registry after uninstall and re-installed the application. I don't get it, it doesn't make any sence.

Try this:

Change the DPI settings for screen resolution(XP), or default system font size(Windows 2000), restart your system and change it back (and restart again).
On Windows this is in display properties: (right-mouse on desktop -> properties), Settings-> Advanced -> Display DPI Setting(XP), or Display Font size(Windows 2000). )

I found it on

http://www.alias.com/eng/support/maya/qualified_hardware/QUAL/maya_65_win.html

when I had the same problem, it worked perfectly. Strange but true... apparently this is specific to Dell machines.
