View Full Version : omit object from raytracing?
lilgit 11-07-2002, 04:32 AM in my scene, raytracing looks great except for one object. i would like to use a reflection map for this object instead of having it raytrace the enviroment and surrounding objects. is this possible?
i am using maya 4.5 with mentalray, no lights in the scene as it is image based lighting using final gather and an hdr mapped to an environment sphere.

if you have an object that you dont want to appear in reflections simply go into its atr editor and turn off "visible in reflections" in the render stats tab :)
Happy Rendering!!!

because it needs a reflection, just not a raytraced one :p
