This is a colour trial I have quickly whipped up to practice my landscape painting as well as get a feel for the light.
My idea for for this challenge is a fading civilisation that was once a glorious, thriving culture now fallen into ruin. With this I am trying to capture the essence of that which was "spectacular" about this lost civilisation and attempt to show how beauty is transient.
I guess my idea of this is not to show something spectacular but rather to show that which was spectacular as it declines.
I am still working on my sketches and I will post them shortly.
Let me know what you think!! Good luck everyone, I know I'm gonna need it.

Here is another study of a sea scene. This one has more of a link to the idea floating around in my head. A bit strange for me to do a painting straight into digital without sketching first but I felt like I had to get a feel for the environment the pic is set in.

Here is the final line art. Now for the painting!
Thanx a lot! Got a unique style yourself.. Good concept!
I'll be lurking.. Keep it up! :)

Here is the first colour WIP. I'm still struggling a bit with environments, especially the sky but It's definitely coming on. Let me know what you think and any suggestions will definitely be appreciated.
