dirty textures...

Lemog
09-19-2005, 06:30 AM
Good beginning for textures... just one remark about the dirty parts, I think that we should see a certain thickness of filth, dirtiness, for the moment, that seems to form a unit with painting... and to have a little bump at certain places would allow to better hang light and shadow...

...I'm just waiting continuation

A small suggestion about the plugs (les tampons), they're very flat, I think that could enrich the image if they were bent a little, not too much, and with marks of blows, and/or friction.
And also, to add small a chamfer on the hub caps of headlights, those have very acute edges.

Bonne soirée

That is great how you make Progress, great to follow.
I would say, that maybe the weird shaped buildings in the back take away some of the Focus for the Snake. Maybe play around with Color, or make them more starightlined for Contrast.
But in the end, great work, very inspiring.

Lemog

On reconnait bien la patte du maître, ça prend forme... nothing to add for the moment... maybe the yellow parts in the background contrast too much with the blueish atmosphere... I've just waiting continuation.

Just two comments...
- in this position for the weirdflycopscooter... we don't see exactly what is it exactly... very difficult to read it...
- always the same remark I've said few dasy ago about the plugs (tampons), very flat and whose texture is not worn by the use and the shocks.

Good continuation... your project is always very passioning

Hey Mathieu, very nice concept ! I think large-scale entries have the best chance in this contest and your's is centeinly large scaled, mostly thnx to the boy there. its large scale mostly because we know the "real"size of a boy and we compare the train (and envierment) to it. I'de try to add a few more "real" elements in the scene to stregthen the scale in this piece.

lighting - I really like how the train lit. the rest is kinda flat looking. I'd try to backlight stuff and have more "dark areas". I've allwais been against frontal lighting ... also try to add some more color to some lights (not too saturated tho') and see how that turns out.

texturing - again, I really like alot of areas on the train ! no complaints there. but the "snake's" texture is a bit too uniform and boring for me. dont get me wrong, it is ok, and I can see u made a matching bump/spec to it and it works very nicely but I think adding another layer of dirt or something else could make it alot more interesting.

anyways, keep it up ! I'll be watching

Wow nice work! All the details and texture work really make this one shine. The cyber-punk tagger storyline is super kool. Looks like a winner. Cheers, good luck.
