well.... i'm finally picking up the guts to post this after a month or so of hard work. 40+ progress pictures not including the inbetween frames when i was just looking at one area, gotta be my biggest project yet and i'm not even done.... i'm not entirely sure if this would even go in the exotique book but still.... it's been an educational experiance... debating on adding color later, my older sister says it looks great just how it is but still... ANYWHO.... here... it... is.. *closes eyes, holds breath and adds image*

still with lots to be done, just now getting to the water which i have NEVER done before... as well as trees which i have also never done before... and a buunch of other stuff i've never even DREAMED of doing before....

and heres a close up on the water nymph

I like it, there are a lot of technical issues to address ofcourse. But you've set a mood definitely. I'd suggest playing more with contrasst to bring your elements of itnerest into play. Like keeping the nymphs brighter than the rest. Just darkening the rest and keeping the detail out o f the further distances. Very nice idea. :)

jmBoekestein >> thanks! i know i've got quite a bit of work ahead of me, would you mind telling me what issues you see that need attention? you might be seeing something i'm not.

but anywho i messed with the contrast on the trees and shrubs. and also stayed up late one sleepless night working on the leaves. other minor changes in this picture, shadows and a couple other things i think. don't keep track of everything i do hehe.

it seems too flat, need some more perspective adjustments, but i like the composition :)

i've been fiddling and fiddling and decided that i should just move on to the color phase which is second to last... last phase being the tweaking and so on... but anyway... i hope i haven't jumped the gun... haven't messed with the water very much and the reflections will be added close to last if not last

so yeah... C&C very much apreciated... trying to get depth to the picture and richness of color where i can. if you see something thats lacking don't be afraid to point it out.... and i'm out now... thanks for looking!!

hrmm... no thoughts or ideas or anything? got SOME time left... well... my computer was dissassembled to protect it from that last huricane to the gulf coast. it was supposed to land in our area but never did.. but at least we got out of the house for a bit, which was nice. but i get back and my omputer isn't sitting there all nice and pretty waiting for me to turn it on and get back to work... no... instead my hard drive is in my suitcase, my box is in a storage shed and my monitor is in the bathroom, with a tarp over it of course, along with my loverly wacom.

so no update here yet, though i'd very much apreciate any thoughts, ideas, crits, whatever anyone would have on what i have up so far.... thanks for looking, ya?

The figure in the water - her torso's too short so her buttcrack is halfway up her back. :)

The heads are pretty big on both figures. The water to me, isn't convincing as water. The reflections on it are too regular and too harsh.

I like your delicate palette, but it could perhaps use a more saturate color here and there.

BMunchausen: the figure in the water was supposed to be sort of floating, but i guess that didn't come off very well :( i was hoping the heads were not over-large for them *shrug* i like them their current size honestly.

fiddled with the saturations and other areas, will probably go in and ripple the legs a bit before i close down the entire image... *shrug*

i'm starting to doubt if i could get this finished in time but even if i don't i'm still glad i tried
