Hello Everyone!
This is the first time I'm posting something I've done.
I look at other peoples work here mostly, admire allot of you, and read allot of messages although I don’t participate that much.
Anyways I did this thing in Maya and Photoshop and it's one of my first real "3d-related" things.
Any form of criticism is welcomed, but don't forget that I'm relatively new to all of this...
thanx

I'm not sure exactly what is going on this image :) but it looks good! Great skin texture and form on the character. He is a very odd looking beast indeed. Altogether it looks very well assembled Nice job.

Thanx Frank Dodd,
I know it's hard to tell what it is, but I experimented a bit.
I made the creatur from a sketch I did when I had nothing to do, I can show it too, if anyone is interested..

on the 2D side:
detail tends to get lost around the face area (which I think should be the main focus of the image) because there is a lot of light rather than a high contrast and well gradated and round looking face. It just comes out a little flat. I'm comparing the amount of detail that I see in the sketch and the final image.
lighting:
If the sunset is behind the character what is lighting up the side of the face that we can see? If there is a lightsouce it should have some motivation or we could see the source too.
Background:
It does what it needs to do, simple shapes and colors giving the whole scene a sence of scale and depth.

overall good, but I wouldn't consider it finished.

peace,
Clear
