:bounce: Ah thanks guys, you've got it Yes it is a spaceship, which Im still design-ing the look of it, Hence, the tru usage of stonghendge, a UFO, landing pad, now seeing is believing,.. Now that, should defintely be in the Years to come's History books ( i mean history lcd paper), One Day it will happen, eventually everything will be unearthed. I thought about this one hard, and hope to grasp an Image that depicts this event hapening in Real Life, a Spectacular Event

Stay Tuned to what the Spaceship will look like

:)

almost done drawing out my idea, the ship we see is a guide ship, and the smaller ones are scouts,. the monument we see, is the all mighty historical place of Stonehendge in England. It will become more clear once I finish the sketches.. so then I will carry on
& have fun. or hey fly your thoughts & feedback.

Okay I started modeling the scout ship since it will definetly remain in my concept, pretty much everything will remain the same, I just need to finish drawing more elements before I finalize my concept sketch, so rather than waste time here is, The Unspoken Modeling Part1..

Basically I am using only polys the old school way, polly per polly point per point, You can see in my image the progressions thru the different phases,
I started by loading in my concept sketch and creating a simple shape to fit the scout ship window, from there i extrudue it several times to form the main shape, note: you can also start from a super simple sphere with low tessellation, so then just keep moving stuff around till if fits your sketch and how you want it. try to keep the topology smooth and crease free, saves a lot of hassels later on,
I split the model down the center to 100% inshure it will be symetrical when I'm done, push n pull some more, get it looking good, then, subdivide everything by 1 time, this will allow you to continue but by adding more detail, and finer shapes..... always look at the topology of your wire frame and keep it organized.

stay tuned for more.

"Modeling Part 2"

started filling out the ship a bit now, did a few test renders to check the mesh, which you can see there were some trouble areas (circled in green, this scout-ship will be very small in my scene so, I will not add too much more detail.. Mostly just revise the shape of the top fin to match my concept sketch. Oh yea almost forget about the nose!

Started making some of the land, deformed shapes to add a bit of depth, also started some texture mapping, I will be doing the ground in multi-layers, a test renderd image coming up soon

A quick test render to look at the current setup, with textures and models, started some rocks, made from primitives deformed to my needs.. working on multi layered grass, still need to fill in the back parts..

Moved on to some more texturing for the scout ship, mostly what I am doing is starting from a base, I like to mix procedural shaders & layerd textures, to grasp a feeling, the final part will be to add fine details using UV mapping, and my current textures will be rendered out as maps to attach to the UV,s should be much fun!.. also did a bit more on the land grass, and used a simple 2 set lighting kit I built for these tests, A full Render will be posted shortly

I like the perspective from post 10 in this thread. It's like from a spectator. The others would be from a low flying plane and unlikley to invoke a personal response.

Also the landscape is off enoough to throw doubt into believablity. Here are a couple of shots to help:

This third shot shows that there is a tree line in the distance.

Hope that helps ;)

Nice work so far. Keep it up :)

Yea, completely, :)

The render of post #10 is my concept sketch, which will be the angle its going to be at, but much larger where it starts to reveal more on top, left, rightl sides, so it feels like you are in it

The other renders you saw are mostly just shading/texturing tests, which I used those other perspectives so I could see

Thanks for the photos references, especially the top view layout that was my next one to hunt down. very cool thanks!!!
