Backdrop: The Numahs of the planet ethra have come to the point of evolution of machine and technology, leaving behind the ways of nomadic scavengers. While mining mineral deposits they discover a natural gas that is lighter than their atmosphere. In time they exploit this resource and embark on their first adventures of flight.



Machine: Multiple gas filled chambers strapped together to create the needed lift to float a small cruise ship across the deserts to major cities so tourists can be near the sea and escape the desert heat.



Scene: Since the only source of natural gas is found in the desert near the mining colony, these huge machines must stop to take on fresh gas chambers. It is here that the most spectacular catastrophe in the history of the Numahs occurred. Some say it was lightning while others speculate sabotage, what ever the cause, many Numahs perished that day.

I have decided to create the Numahs character and have them fleeing the catastrophy.... will post sketch of this character once I can get my scanner working again.

Started to Model my idea, this shows the intial ideas, the ship will be broken up as it hits the ground.

Good Idea. This could be a good celestrial art piece. There is a good tutorial on celestrial art in 3dtotal.
