This is my first concept. Just a few ideas roughed out with a layout and some lighting ideas.
The idea is of an organic cityscape with huge highrise organic structures from the ground to another plane above. The indiginous species carve dwellings in these uprights and travel by flight. Not sure if on animals or man-made vehicles yet.

Please let me know if you like it or not. Anybody see any obvious faults?
Thanks and good luck all!!!

I like it. My initial view of it was of a huge underground cave. But I like the idea. Look forward to how this progresses.

Yeah, each time I look at it I think huge cave too. I am going with this idea and will work up a quick test in 3d to see how it pans out.
Thanks for the encouragement!

I just made up a very quick mock up of my scene in 3d. Wanted to test the scale and light.
I think I will carry on with this theme now. I think it will work well with volumetric light and fog.

I like the idea and the test render looks good. I also get an eerie feeling from this, nad with some fog and good lighting it will kick ass.

This is another test, this time in 3d just to try out a couple of ideas I have for workflow.
I now know the direction for this peice and am really getting excited about starting modelling. Specially the dwellings!

Just a little update. This is the first of a series of 'buildings' I am working on. I am planning on having a house, garden and maybe a garage/stable in the foreground.
I wanted to have something with a classical feel to it. This very simple lathed object seems to fit the bill. The shaded ares will be grassy.
Any thoughts?
