View Full Version : Animation playback problems!

I've rigged a character with IK-FK arms, whenever I key my FK controls my timeline slows down... When I start scrubbing, when I jump to a different frame and especially when I playback? Sometimes it can stand still for as much as 5 secs before it starts playing.

Does anyone know how to get around this?
Does anyone know what max initializes before it allows timeline changes that would cause it to slowdown like that?

Are you using HI or HD IK solver? HD solver can become clunky after a while of animating.

I'm using HI-IK, these are game animation clips I'm working on so they're rarely more that 30 frames!

this is a known bug with more complex rigs with lots of constraints (especially nested constraints i think), i think i read somewhere that it's fixed in 8

all the rigs i've worked on in the past few months were actually realtime while scrubbing but had this stupid problem...

Just have to grit and bear it until Max 8.
