I would like to introduce you to http://www.complexification.net/gallery/ if you haven't seen it.
Much of his work is written in a graphics programming language called Processing http://processing.org/ . I've just started tinkering with it and the results are impressive. It is based on Java (which I had no interest in till now) and has a clean and clear dev environment.
What do you guys think?
