Spectacular 3D Entry: Sander Shiguenori Nonaka

hi everybody!
I´m now searching some references for my spectacular image :)
I already did my concept sketch, but i´m not able to post it right now (no scanner) so then tomorrow i´ll take a shot with a digicam and post it, sorry for delay. For now i can only write about the history of the image.

-The spectacular power of fire -

I´ll try to bring my vision about the reaction of the primitive humans when they first saw the fire. It will be a cloudy day, almost night, with some thunders at the background lighting the scene. The place is somewhere near pequim and the primates are the Pithecanthropus erectus. I want to pass the feeling of the primates when they see the tree burning and an animal running because of the fire light.
I know it´s going to be very difficult to bring the facial expressions well done, but I´ll give my best in this contest. Hope you like it!! :thumbsup:

I like hands, so i first model the hand. It´s a base hand, it isn´t looking like a primate hand because i´ll modify it to make the other 3 primates. It´s just a base model.

Very good hand! The only thing that I will suggest is that you make the finger nails longer. They look like they were chewed down too much at the moment. Cool drawing too!

Hey nice work so far. The modeling is top notch! I like the concpet too. Not too long ago I saw that movie Quest for Fire again, it was on tv, so I sat and watched it. Great movie, the whole idea of the discovery of fire is pretty interesting to speculate about.

This model is looking very good so far. I can see the "ape/man" very easily. The only thing that I would suggest is that the mouth is too wide and the entire lower half of the face is a bit too wide as well.

Hey Sandar,

The first time seeing fire I would imagine would have be a real site specially if you started it. The hand and the head models are looking good , how are you going to handle the hair Good luck with this.

gardogg - I´ll post an update with a more thick lips, i agreed with you, thanks for critics! :bounce: About the lower half face, I did some search about the "man of pequim" and i found some interesting pics that showed his suposed face and a shot of his skull, i´m trying to keep the correct anatomy, but with a little bit of personal touch. Let´s see if you like the final result, ehehe :) (i hope so) :thumbsup:

mmoir - Thanks for critics mmoir! About the place, i´m trying to imagine somewhere in the china mountains, i´ll try to pass a personal idea of a place, maybe even a not so real like terrain, i don´t know yet. The hair will be a very difficult part of the process, I´ll take a lot of time on it.
