Don't know who all uses Houdini, figured I would give it a spin since its one of the older names. Based off of ver 5.5 and doesn't have annoying watermarks like Maya's.

Online Registration for FREE Houdini classes Live!

Houdini Online Registration system is ready to go!

The registration system is up and running for all members. Please make sure to read all of the information presented on the registration page. You can find this page by refreshing your sidebar (at left). The course is available under the Online Courses dropdown.

This is the only part of the system open to the public. The full thing will be online December 1st.

Monthly VTMs will be created for Houdini. YES, this means a NEW one will come out EVERY month.

The VTMs will be like normal, 2+ hours. They will start off from a beginner status and work through more and more complex stuff. My goal is to make one of the most complex and powerful apps in the world EASY.

The twist is this.... let's turn this into a classroom for those that want to seriously participate. This means there will be homework assignments and tests.
The course will run in everyone's own timespace, so we will not be meeting at certain times, etc. There will be a specific place to go for homework and a classroom forum. There are some really cool things that can come from learning this application - trust me!

Just one more exciting FREE thing that we can now offer members of 3D Buzz!

This is a great thing Sidefx is doing with 3DBuzz! :)
I was lucky enough to be able to beta-test Houdini5.5 and it is really a nice piece of software and it seems they just keep improving it.
I hope more CG/FX Companies start using it for modeling/texturing/animation and not for just fx work.
