It's a simple scene of a desert planet somewhere. Maya is the software used. It is pretty simple so far, I would like to add in some of those windblown ripples onto the dunes but I am having a tough time with the procedural textures provided in Maya. I am currently looking into writing a Mental Ray shader for this purpose. Any advice on that front would be greatly appreciated!
Since this is going to be an animation it would also be nice to add in some sand blowing over the dunes... I thought that using an animated procedural texture on a glow channel might give a nice blurry sand-ish look, but, it's not the optimal solution.
