"I clawed at my freshly killed prey. The smell of spilled blood invaded my nostrils. I took a bite at the abdomen and chewed vigorously. The taste of meat in my mouth overwhelmed my taste buds and satisfied my ever hungry stomach. I bent down and took some more chomps and I heard a strange sound. My pack mates were jumping around, agitated. I looked up to locate the source of the disturbance but found none. It sounded like a squeak of a compsognathus, only deeper. The distraction faded in my mind, I bent down and continued my feeding. But then it came again, and accompied by another set of squeaking which quickly turned into a dull roar. I looked up and located a swirl in the air. The swirl had the hues of the trees, the sky, the clouds, and some of my brethren. The mixture of hues continued to swirl as a blurred image the color of sand appeared in the center. As I gazed at the ever growing whirlpool, I started to feel disoriented. The sand colored oval became clearer and a thunderous wave knocked us down. As I slowly came to my senses, wind streamed past me and into the oval. It became stronger and stronger, some of my pack mates were pulled, screaming into it. As I got up to try to get away, a large branch crashed into me, sending me towards the oval and blackness overcame me.......
...... I woke up in a place devoid of sounds. I called out but no answering greeting came to me. Where was I? Where was my pack? I opened my eyes to see walls, a floor and a ceiling close enough to touch. This was not the sky... Where was I?"
Dino-Instinct is about two teams of dinosaurs going at each other to reach a common objective according to the type of gameplay. There will be five dinosaurs per team being a carnivore vs. herbivore type scenario. After getting so many points (from both frags and completing gameplay objectives) a player can change dinos to a different, more powerful dinosaur, or spend points increasing the abilities of the current dino he/she is playing.
Here is a screenshot of what we plan to be the Carnivore team in our first release.

From left to right it is the Utahraptor, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and the Herrarasaurus.
Two out of the three Herbivores we plan on using for the beta release are already modeled out but the skins are not finished yet. The third one is currently being modeled out. As for the Carnivores they are pretty much done, just need to be rigged and animated, except for the Utahraptor, which is complete.
That is also a screenshot of an upcoming map DI_Tropics, more on that very soon.
As for the programming side of things, third person code is completed and works well and efficiently, the HUD, and the Utah has been implemented into game. We are now able to play as the Utah in game wit full animations and everything. We will release a video soon showing off some first hand game play, but first we need to fix up some animations and squish a few bugs.
If you guys would like to check in on our progress, register on our forums and check out our Development Journal, it has some WIP screenshots and info you won't see here!
We are in need of animators, we have a nice modeling team, but our modelers can push out meshes way faster then our animators can animate them. If you have experience please don't hesitate to apply, don't forget to show off any previous work in our forum. But Team Raptor currently has several job openings. If you have previous experience with modding and you are interested in contributing some of your work to Dino-Instinct, come visit us at our Forum (http://dinoinstinct.hl2files.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4) and show off to us some of your previous experience.
