I just entered the contest tonight. This is the first cgtalk.com contest I have ever entered as I usually hang out around other forums, but I'd be very excited if it were possible for me to get my work published in this book, so I thought I would give it a shot ;)

Goliath Tree
Notes:
This was a rough idea and a concept sketch worked out in Photoshop 7.0 for an idea of this giant mechanical tree in the prosess of being built ( much like my entry) ;). At the moment the idea is rough and It may change as I go along.

Just playing around with some colors at the moment. Things will change especially when working on focal points. The values and saturation of colors will vary once I figure out exactly whats going to become "spectacular" about this image.

Notes: People/construction workers and flying vehicles may be added for scale and more drama. - later on

Hi Mike! I'm sure you'll enjoy your first challenge... there's always a great sense of community in these challenges and, in contrast to a TD you get to see everything people are doing as they do it!!

I don't think there's a book of this challenge though...? I think they gave up on that in the Master and Servant challenge. Maybe they'll put together a 'Best of...' for a few challenges...?

good luck with your piece... sounds like an interesting idea!

Everyone, especially the familiar faces -

Thanks for the warm welcome into my first cgtalk.com challenge. I've been very busy with work and my conceptart.org last man standing tdome challenge for round 2 that I just havent had time to post any updates to this image. Don't worry though, I will get around to it, I'm definately going to be changing up the perspective to make it a bit more dynamic and start to work out some better compositions before really deciding on any 1 idea.

Thanks for all the encouragement.
